Perfecting the Art of
Endodontics
Prof Pierre Machtou is professor at
the Departement d'Endodontie Faculte de Chirurgie Dentaire,
Unversity Paris 7. A consummate clinician, Professor Machtou is
renowned worldwide for his expertise in Endodontics. He has
published extensively in scientific journals & has authored several
books on endodontics including Guide Clinique d'Endodontie.
Professor Machtou currently maintains a practice limited to
Endodontics & still find time to share his expertise in the lecture
circuit worldwide.
Dr Patrick Tseng is a Senior Consultant
and presently holds appointments as Clinical coordinator of the
Dental Services of the National University Hospital, Singapore. He
is a visiting consultant to the Singapore Armed Forces Medical Corps
and Clincial Senior Lecturer in the Dental Faculty of the National
University of Singapore. He has lectured and conducted hands-on and
continuing education courses both locally and internationally and is
presently the Acting President of the Singapore Dental Association.
Perfecting the Art of
Endodontics
The practice of Endodontics is anever changing
one and more so in this age of advancing technology and improved
understanding of the behaviour and properties of materials.
Endodontics is both a Science and an Art and
whilst the biological concepts and fundamentals of root canal
treatment remain relatively unchanged, the approach to the
preparation of root canals, its chemo-mechanical debridement aided
through irrigation, as well as its obturation has undergone radical
change with the introduction of new instruments, irrigants,
materials and techniques.
This one-day series of lectures will address
many of the controversies in Endodontics with an Evidence based
approach as well as draw attention to some of the misconceptions in
Root Canal Irrigation. The Preparation of the Root Canal in a safe,
predictable and efficient way with the use of both Rotary as well as
Hand Instrumentation will be dealt with in details as well as
Obturating the Root Canal using a variey of advanced obturation
techniques.
The increasing demand to retain teeth has seen
an increase in the practice of root canal therapy and inadvertently
an increase in the incidence of root canal failures. Successful
management of root canal failures however demands an understanding
of the causes of failure as well as an extensive knowledge of the
variety of retreatment techniques available including the
recognition of the various technique advantages and disadvantages.
This lecture series will continue with an
outline of the common causes of root canal failures and their
management.

Hands - On Course for
Root canal Preparation in the Rotary Revolution
Are you spending too much time with those molar
root canals and still having doubts about its success? Are you
finding it difficult to locate those 'elusive' canal orifices and
negotiating those 'calcified' canals? Are you able to obturate those
canals confidently and predictably?
If you have found yourself asking these
questions, then this course is for you!
This lecture / hands-on workshop will provide
the participants with intensive hands-on experience on canal
preparation using both the revolutionary Nickel Titanium rotary
instruments as well as rotary instruments modified for Hand Use.
